THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!

I would like to say a very special THANK YOU to everyone who has been praying for my son Levi. Please continue praying for him, not only physically, but spiritually and mentally too. It is getting to be a struggle for him, with him missing his little girls so much, and being away from home. He is such a worker and doer, he NEVER sits still long. I think he would be lucky to sit still for even 15 minutes,,,so you can imagine what it would be like for him to have to lay still. He does get up and walk around a lot at the hospital (they couldn't keep him down long at all, even with all the pain he is experiencing).

He says right now he feels like every nerve is now exposed (I can imagine). But he is healing! Not sure yet how long he is still going to be in the hospital yet, last word, it sounded like he does have a couple of areas that are going to need skin grafts, but the doctors want to let him heal more. He was soooooo fortunate considering being by himself at the time, and still driving himself to the hospital.

Thank you all again from the bottom of our hearts, for all of your prayers, wishes, comments, support and encouraging words!

I hope you all don't mind me asking here,,,

I would like to ask for prayer for my Son (Levi). Last Saturday morning he went to work and ended up having a gas can explode on fire all over him. Thankfully he kept his head enough, he got out of his burning clothes (top half), put out the fire on his pants, and drove himself 15-20 minutes to the hospital on his own.

Later that day, the flew him out to a burn center in Seattle, Washington,USA. So far he has mostly 1rst and 2nd degree burns from waist up. He may have 3rd degree under one arm, and a spot on his chest.

He had just started this job too, so they have no money and no insurance, you can imagine what they are going to be dealing with.

The hospital hasn't even given them (him and his wife) much info, as they are still waiting to see just how bad the burns are. So should know something hopefully in the next day or two. He is doing better, and when he called today, he said he wasn't hurting as bad.

He also two small daughters.

Anyway,,,thank you for your support and prayers everyone.

I'm sendng out a plea to my fellow bloggers and friends who can crochet.
I've been searching out some new patterns for 'simple' projects I can make to help with our income, no matter how little it helps. I seem to find there are a LOT of BEAUTIFUL and ADORABLE Japanese/Asian/oriental patterns out there, almost more than there are 'English'. I LOVE using charts, and for the most part, I can follow charts pretty good. BUT,,,,I am finding a LOT in foreign languages, I just for the life of me can NOT figure out.

Can ANYONE help me please. Here is a sample of one, I just don't understand at all.

Hello fellow bloggers and readers :)

I'm back into tatting again after taking a bit of a break.(Too long of a break at that!)
I've started working on bookmarks. They can be so quick and make such nice gifts or sale items (that is with permission from designers :) of course).

Here is what I have been working on. The first two are Gina Butler's "Basic Ring-Chain Cross Bookmark" which pattern can be found here: I used Lizbeth Size 40 thread. The first one is done up in colorway "Countryside" and the second one is done up in colorway "Purple Splendor". I just LOVE using these threads!!!

This third bookmark is found here on Jane's blog. This was sooo much fun making. I could sure tell it had been while since I had any real tatting. I had to re-do this EASY book about 3 times :( I kept messing up, dumb mistakes grrrrrr. I also used Lizbeth size 40 on this one, the colorway is "Falling Leaves" I actually made it before I did the two above Cross bookmarks.

Chocolate Box Contest-OH NO! I have been invaded! LOL!!!

WoW what a fun week! I decided sort of last minute and talk about sliding into home base, to join the contest Isdihara at Ambitatterous is having. She is going to be giving away a wonderful prize! Personally I don't think I stand a chance as there are some really BEAUTIFUL entries. All the same,,,it was a blast joining in on the fun. As you can see my little buddy just had to get in on the fun. Barely kept him out of the chocolates! I think though if you look close enough you might find a little 'evidence' left behind :)
Sooo after thinking a bit on what sort of theme I could come up with,,,all I could think of was how 'chocolate' should be in EVERY tatter's first aid kit (unless you are allergic to it of course, then something else). Soo here is what I came up with!

I used a regular chocolate box, (only one I had in the house ha ha ha) and covered with wrapping paper. Then went to work tatting away. :) I used chocolate colored DMC crochet thread and wanted a 'chocolate' theme of course. Those letters weren't the easiest shaping. I found I have REALLY gotten rusty in my tatting.
The little bears you can find the pattern here by our wonderful creator Heather at Heather Designs The lettering I used Josephine stitches (hope I have that right) LOL!

Then the amazing part is just before I found out about this fun contest,,,I came across a crochet pattern for making these yummy looking chocolates.!You can find the pattern here! I of course had to put them in their own 'paper cups' Using a 'basket' pattern I found in Rebecca Jones' Complete Book of Tatting,,, I created these little lacy paper cups.

Then the icing I also tatted using the Josephine stitches.

Well I better get this posted or I will miss the deadline, if I haven't already. Thank you Isa for such a fun contest!

UPDATE: OH NO!!!!! LOOK AT MY BOX!!!!! It has been INVADED!!!!!!!!!

I woke this morning to find NOT ONE but TWO critters in the First Aid Box!!! LOL! Looks like one is pretty happy with what she found too! Of course they went and scared Barnie the Bear plumb away!!! No wonder he was hiding in the corner of my desk shaking! All is well though, once I convinced him they were only after the chocolates and not him. Poor guy!

Tatted Doily Updates and Fuzzy Critters!!!

Here are a couple of up dates on my tatted doilies. Both have new rounds added to each of them. The first being the size 30 thread, and the second being the size 10 thread. They are still growing, slowly but steadily!

Then here is a size comparison pic of the two. The red one has another round added to it as you can see. I have been little under the weather lately, so the next round for the blue one hasn't been caught up yet.

Then as I went to take a little stroll around the yard to see what was growing in the jungle of grass, flowers and weeds from all the rain we have been getting, Imagine my surprise to find these little crochet bears playing hide and seek!!! First I found them in the strawberry patch. But alas, no strawberries for them! Or me either :(

Then I found them hiding in grass, I know they were just waiting patiently for me to come along so they trip our little dog LOL!

Both of these cuties now have a new home. Both of the grand daughters just fell in love with them, picking out which they liked best (no fights either!!!) And they wasted no time gathering them up to take them to their home either :)

Doily Progress

Well her is round 2 on the ecru size 10 one completed.

I think this doily is going to be a blast and looks sooo pretty.

I can't wait to get it finished.

Well like I said in the previous post,,,,I like this pattern so well I am doing it in two different sizes. Here is a sampling of the second one I am working on. As you can tell I have this one a little farther along. Will keep ya updated of enough are interested in watching these doilies grow as I tat them.

This is my next project. I am trying some crocheted pineapple earrings. I'm not 'real' good at crocheting with tiny thread. So this could take a bit of practice. I tried first in size 10 Peach colored thread. Then moved to a smaller hook and some of my new lizbeth thread in the size 40. Almost makes crocheting with the size 10 feel like rope lol!

Anyway just a teaser of some of the newest stuff I am working. LOL yep more WIPs for sure!

My new threads are Lizbeth from HandyHands :) Thank you again Valerie! I can now add to my previous collection from Valerie. The newest colors are 'Red Burst', 'Natural', 'Mocha Brown dk', 'Countryside', and 'Mountain Breeze' Can't wait to start using these! All in size 40. I am finding I really LOVE this size thread!

I was doing a little cleaning and came across this basket I thought would make a great 'thread' basket. Just PERFECT for my newest threads. What do you think? All ready for doing a 'little' tatting? LOL!!! I know I'm sure ready to go again!!! I have really been finding I have missed not tatting. Can't believe I took such a long break!!!! Shame on me!!!!!!!!!

Beverly and I were doing a little web browsing one night when she came across this site with some pretty neat patterns. LOL! Well in my endeavors of trying out tatted necklaces,,, I fell in love with 'simple' motif! YEA RIGHT!!! "Simple!" Did I say SIMPLE! LOL!!! Well it is IF you just follow more with the picture than with the instructions. Of course you need some of the instructions as well. But all in all,,,here is completed. I still like how it turned out.

Oh guess I should get ya all the link before I forget :) The site she found was Free-Tatting.com The thread I used here is DMC Cebelia in the lavendar size 10, I just had laying close by when I found the pattern and of course happen to have a shuttle handy! I mean what tatter wouldn't have a shuttle handy??? heehehehe

Here is my first attempt at tatting a necklace AND without really having a pattern to follow. I'm not sure I am too please with how the 'leaves' lay, but my friend who I made the necklace for (her daughter actually) loved it. So I guess that is what counts. The teardrop shape ivory is actually a prehistoric critter tusk. It is mastodon. The tatted rose of course is one of my favs, by Jeanne Lugert, her 3-d Rose Earrings. Here I used a black size 10 crochet thread, probably coats n clarks or something like that. And then in one of my tatting thread exchanges,,, (Please forgive me I can't find my notes or remember who) gave me some beautiful gold metallic thread, I separated and used in the rose and then the chain. (I think it could have been Karey Solomon, but not positive, if I am wrong,,,I apologize, otherwise,,,I still THANK YOU whoever it was that sent it to me).

Here is my second attempt at making a necklace. This one is for the daughter of the one getting the above necklace. Here I used the same size 10 black crochet thread, adding in some red and blue beads while tatting in Victorian sets. And then the heart motif is a beautiful pattern called 'SweetHeart' by Birgit Phelps I used Size 30 DMC Cebelia threads in royal blue and darker red.

This last necklace I just finish today. Again just simple Victorian Sets done in the same black as the other 2 necklaces,,,only switching back and forth with the size 10 black and a size 10 red crochet thread. Then I added a glass teardrop bead. This is for the brother to the little girl getting the heart necklace. I do hope they all like them. :)

Ok,,,sorry I didn't get anything new posted like I had planned. I do apologize :(

But I am here,,I guess better late than never right! Hehehe

Ok on to the tatting!

First of all,,,there are a couple of wonderful tatter and friends who has been REALLY encouraging me to get back into not only my fiberarts again,,,but into TATTING!!!! Thank you OHHHH SO MUCH my dear friends Valerie Ho and Beverly Elrod!!!!

Then Valerie and I started talking before Christmas about doing an exchange and since she knows I don't celebrate the holidays,,we decided to do a private exchange. I'm still working on mine :(

As part of the exchange from Valerie,,,she sent me this BEAUTIFUL and FABULOUS order of HDT Lizbeth thread from Handy Hands! This is size 40 thread and what didn't get added in the pic was also a size 16 steel crochet hook for BEADS!!!!

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH Valerie, (I know I can't say it enough LOL!) :-]

Sooo of course my first project had to be ROSES!!!!

The roses pattern is created by Jeanne Lugert 3-D earrings n pendant

The Leaf pattern is a pattern created by Linda Davies, with a little alternation on the 'stem' end.

Next I had some metal ring bracelets I had bought last year at the local (suppose to be) dollar store (they weren't no dollar believe me lol). Sooooo

When I seen this pattern in my 'Easy Tatting' Book by Rozella Linden,,,,who could resist :] I did the blue/purple/red ornamental snowflake first (goofing and getting 7 pts in instead of 6 the pattern called for) , then I thought oh how pretty the fall colors would be in the gold ring. Sooo here are the results.

Other news,,,,it has been COLD here. Last night temps dropped

to 7 degree F! I am sooo looking for Springs. Here are a couple photos I took recently!

This is early in the morning when the sun is just peaking over the mtns from the east, and the temps was only 9 F

This is a on New Year's Day,,,it was dumping snow like crazy for about 10 minutes,,,then went back to rain/snow for the next 3 days. Now it is colder,,,and everything is frozen solid! Currently temp is 10F and dropping! Brrrrrr!!!

Well I'll follow up with a new post with some of the knitting and crochet I have been doing lately.

Hello Fellow Bloggers and Friends n Family!!!!

Been busy on the home front. Not going to say all of it is 'constructive' but busy. I have managed to get in a little knitting here and there, a tad of tatting, a bit of crocheting,,, gardening, having a BLAST with the grand babies!!! And learning some strategic games online. Otherwise you will likely find me in facebook.

However,,, I have a couple of friends are working on me, getting me back into the tatting mood. The past 9-10 months have been a little rough, dealing with some issues. Hopefully they are subsiding, would be better is they would disappear completely :)

Anyway,,, I'm going to try to make an effort to do a little more blogging. A couple of ppl have told me they miss me blogging. :) Thanks ladies!

Well about all for now. I do have tons of knitting pics, some tatting pic, from my last tatting exchange I think to post when I get to it. And a little crocheting.

Update On My Little Pom Buddy!

Wanted to post a quick update. Peach is now home! We got her home yesterday afternoon. She is definitely almost back to her old self again. It is so great having her home!
I am a little upset with the vet's office. The told me over the phone I had a little credit coming,,,,, LITTLE is RIGHT, a whole whopping .72 cents. They made it sound like it was definitely more than that. Then there was NO instruction care at all, just 1 bottle of anti-biotic and 1 bottle of Vitamin K pills to give her,,,,,,and then they left the 'IV' needle (stint) in her leg still. And like I said not a single set of instructions!
At least she is OK though!

This is a few years ago it was taken though. She hasn't really changed any.

It is also snowing today. At least we had a nice break from 'new' snow. Though the last week almost 2 we didn't have much melting as temps stayed pretty cold. This weekend is when another 'artic' front is coming and it is suppose to get back down into the single digits again! UGH!!!
I won't get it done today, But I'll try get all of my latest tattings, and knittings posted this weekend.

I must apologize to everyone who takes the time to read my blogs. I didn't get the tatting posted for a few reasons. First we ended up getting our grand daughter for the weekend. The got to also have 'Mom' 'Dad' and 2nd grand daughter for Sunday afternoon. Besides I was working on finishing up a couple projects I had going and now today,,,well today our little Pomeranian isn't doing too good. We don't know what is wrong with her. I am praying she will make it through the night and I can take her to the vet in the morning. We don't have the money in anyway,,,so I don't know if they will even look at her. If there was a way I would take her right now. But this little town,,,I doubt we could get someone to look at her anyway.

Anyway. I'll post things when I get the chance. And update you all. Right now, I just can't focus too well.

Rosebuds After Below Zero temps

Well during all those snowfalls,,,, as most of you know I have been doing knitting, tatting and crocheting. Here is a little of what I got some recent photos of that I have done.

This Blue Heron I made special for a friend as a 'Get Healed quick" gift along with these two tribbles. All in her fav colors. She LOVES blue herons, so when I first found this pattern free, I couldn't resist making it for her. The 'water' line I couldn't quite get to turn out right. But as long as the heron did, that is what counts! (A tribble is the small round scrubbie thing)
This "skate" is our Jan Knit-A-Long for a group I joined for making these dishcloths. I used a smaller yarn for it. Most use a 4 ply worsted cotton yarn. I happen to have some 3 ply sportweight and thought I would give it a try. I really like the way it turned out.
This one is another, using the the same 'single rose' I did awhile back in pink. Only this one was done again in the 3 ply in a pale yellow, though it didn't turn out in the photo. My light wasn't quite right.
For my Dec KAL,,, the pattern was a snowman several people had problems with the pattern. After ripping it out and starting over several times (I think close to about 8 times) I decided to use the graph that was with the pattern (at the end of the Knit along that is). Took some doing, but I figured it out.

This dishcloth below is the mid-Dec KAL. I didn't do it, it was using techniques I haven't done, besides I was too busy with other projects that were needing done. This one was done by my neighbor who is teaching me and joined too. I had gave her this yarn, since she didn't have any cotton yarn. I was surprised when she gave me the end product. Isn't it GORGEOUS??? Yep this one is definitely 'too pretty' to use as a dishcloth. I will use this one as a doily.

Winter's Blankets!!!

Here are some winter pictures I've taken just from our snows starting about mid Dec.Here is one of the places where hubby works. I went on a ride with him through the boss' place. This first pic looks 'foggy' but actually it is the snowfalling hard and huge snowflakes!

This was the next heavy snowfall we had! Remember on south of us only about 20-30 miles they got about twice the amount of snow each time!!!

These are some 'after dark' shots I got of our daughter and our porch. This is the snow fall we got just as temp were FINALLY warming up after almost 3 weeks of below zero (Fahrenheit) temps. You can also see how REALLY HUGE the snowflakes got!
These below are some pictures I got today after having about 3-4 days of melting. Today we hit a HIGH heat wave of 42 degree F. We are almost at t-shirt weather LOL!!! It sure feels like anyway. This is what I have been keeping busy shoveling our of our parking spots, walk ways (for us, to critters and for our renter), besides keeping the roof of our double-wide trailer cleaned off. Thankfully most of the snow until the very very last one was all powder snows so it was pretty easy to keep shoveled. Definitely getting my exercise this year. They have said we have even broken records this year going back to the 50's or earlier this year. This really ISN'T a normal winter here. We usually don't get this much in one snowfall, let alone 3-5 like we got this winter. And usually around here we only have about one week 'maybe' of temps that get below 0,,,not 3-4 in a row.

Is anyone ready for the tropics yet LOL we sure are!!!

Round Robin Bookmarks #2

Hello all!

I do hope everyone is having a great week! I have been busy spending this last week catching up blogging, checking out blogs of fellow tatter, trying to catch up some of my lists, etc, not to mention replying to comments. I still have several to catch up with yet (on comments, I think anyway) LOL! Besides that, I have been busy using the snow shovel, clearing paths, parking space, mailboxes, and today helped our son clean off our roof. That was a little spooky since it has been YEARS since I have been up on a roof! I think I surprised our son, hubby and to be honest, surprised myself LOL!

With all of that I have even managed to get in a little tatting. Not much knitting though.

To start with here is a neat goodie package I recieved from Karen (some vintage thread) THANK YOU Karen!!! AND it included a SURPRISE!!!! A TATTING SHUTTLE!!!! yippeee!!! Yeppers it didn't take me long to fill'er up either and start using it!!!! These threads are all JP Coats, and Coats & Clarks along with one DMC and a couple with missing labels. All look to be size 80 thread or 70 as they are 'tatting-crochet' threads. I have another bookmark all planned out using these threads!

Here is what I made using my new shuttle and thread!!!!

This was my bookmark for round number 2 going to Lynn. Yellow is her favorite color. The pattern is from my new bookmark book I recently posted about. Called "Beginner's Choice" by
Barbara Foster (adapted from Modern Priscilla book 1) .

Remember I posted awhile back I had received another goodie package of thread samples???? Well I just HAD to try the beautiful yummy colored Olympus thread from Maggie!!! I REALLY like that Olympus thread!!!! Well here is what I made, using again a pattern from my bookmark book,,pattern by Jill Hanna called "Flowers" and then I used a tassel idea from our wonderful Wally Sosa (who I miss hearing from. I am quite worried, it has been so long). Where are you Wally????

I ended up trying two different techniques here I have never tried before,,,so ALL comments are welcome (good and bad). EXTRA EXTRA long picots and tatting a chain surrounding a ring! Course the twisty tail was a little more trickier than I expected as well. I kept this bookmark because the thread was a little thicker than we were to have for our exchange, and it was also on the short end. Besides I really like it myself.

Well I think this almost catches me up now. I have a couple more bookmarks to show you, but I have to get them downloaded from the camera first. Then I will post my bookmark round 3.

And another 'goodie' package I got! I have been sooooo blessed by fellow tatters,,,I just can't THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!! I feel soooo honored ladies! Again Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart!!!!! (Including you Abby!!!!)

Oh one last note,,,on knitting,,,my neighbor's hubby was gone for a week, so we had plans to do some knitting (more dishcloths) and she was also (still planning to) teach me spinning using a drop spindle. She can't find just where she put it, since she uses her spinning wheel for spinning. Oh I guess I did do some knitting. I knitted a dishcloth with a blue heron on it for a friend of mine who was thrown from her horse just a couple days before Thanksgiving. I'll post a pic of it too when I get the pics downloaded from the camera.

I pray everyone is having a wonderful and safe week! Keep warm those in cold climates. We have ourselves now about a total of about 16 inches of snow, just in this month of Dec. And it is still snowing outside. At least we are finally warming up and hit a heatwave of 25 degrees F today!

The Employee Party Update!!!

Hello Ladies N Gentlemen!!!

First of all I would like to thank each and everyone of you that replied to my blogs n guest book and give me TONS of support!

No on to how the party went (Hi Sheryl),,,, Here is a photo of all I had in my gift package (except for the 3 pints of homemade jam I put in, 1 caramel apple jam, 1 plum elderberry jam and 1 plum apple conserve):

Now for how the party went,,,,
First we all caught a bus at the office, which took us all down to a guest ranch in Sandpoint Idaho. There was I think probably between 25-30 of us. After arriving, we all went for a sleigh ride (first one of the season)!!! It was pretty chilly as it was a moon light clear evening (yep it was after dark). What a BLAST it was too!!! I think I would really like to get a horse drawn sleigh!
Then we went back to the lodge, where we had appetizers until the meal was ready, which was really delicious! Prime rib roast, grilled chicken, roasted red potatoes, steamed veggies, home made hot rolls, fresh tender green salad, and then for dessert there was a choice of blueberry cream pie (sort of like a blueberry cheese cake), dutch apple pie with ice cream, or pumpkin mousse (I think it was). I had the blueberry which was really tasty!!!
After that we had the gift exchange. Wouldn't you know it, I drew like one of the very first numbers (number 3), so since I was so close to the beginning, I chose my own gift. The boss's wife almost stole it from me, but in the end a 'massage' set won out. Oh well,,,I ended up giving her the scrubbies (she had mention she wanted some, when she was considering 'stealing' my bag), and I also gave her one of the 'tribbles' bath pads, which really tickled her pink!
When all the gift opening and stealing was over with, we got tables all our and (after some 'after the gift exchange' did some gift swamping LOL) we played a really AWESOME game of Bunco, which hubby won second place (cash prize too)

Truthfully, I thought I would be kind of down when no one took my gift,,,,but I really wasn't. I think it had a LOT to do with all the wonderful support from all my online friends!!!! THANK YOU so much. I also know that I have plenty of close friends around here too, that love the things I made.

Soooooo on that note,,,,THANK YOU ALL again soooo much for all of your support!

I know I don't celebrate Christmas,,,but all the same I do wish each and everyone you a HAPPY and SAFE season!!!!

Awhile back in November I posted a photo of a doily asking if it was 'crochet' or 'tatting'. Well the answer I posted later was 'crocheted' .
Then a WONDERFUL tatter took the same pattern an TATTED it!!!! She gave me permission to post it on my blogs. I am just now getting caught up on a lot of answering, replying back etc. So please forgive my tardiness LOL!

Round Robin Bookmarks

Well here I am again behind in posting, after I said I would post my newest tatting in a couple of days. I have been so busy trying to get more knitting done for the upcoming party gift exchange. That and cleaning house as our two oldest sons are coming with one daughter-in-law.

So without any further delay,,,here is the GORGEOUS bookmark I received from my Winter 2008 Round Robin Bookmark exchange partner - Abby

Abby made this beautiful bookmark from a pattern by Debbie Arnold and used Opera size 20, which seems finer than size 20.

Thank you Abby, I LOVE it!!!! The green ribbon looks just like this adorable seahorse is swimming among the sea kelp!!!

And here is the bookmark I made and sent to my partner Bonnie:

This bookmark I made using DMC size 80 in variegated pinks (or rose). This pattern is by Ellen Lai aka Singtatter the name of the bookmark is Dancing Kristine. My ribbon unfortunately is kind of on the 'wide' side. But I didn't have any that would better. Feel free to change it Bonnie if you would like.

I also got to order me some thread (LOL my once a year order). I got some DMC Cebelia threads in size 30 and one ball of DMC size 80 a varigated purple, along with a book of bookmark patterns. Here is my order:Then I had inquired in Here-Be-Tatters if anyone could tell me much about Olympus thread and would be interested in trading some samples. Bless Maggie's precious heart,,,She sent me some WONDERFUL samples of not only a YUMMY Olympus thread size 40, but also some Altin Basak - size 50 in teal, green with metallic, and a yellow/orange along with some Oren Bayan -size 50 in green variegated and red & pink variegated, and also some Omega -size 30 in the wonderful colors red n white variegated and a light turquoise. I have already started working on something with the yummy colored Olympus, you will have to wait and see what it is when finished! LOL! THANK YOU MAGGIE!!!!

I would also like to Thank you all of those that replied to me in HBT about the Olympus thread! I think I will be working on saving up to order some of the Olympus along with more DMC Cebelia and DMC size 80. This bookmark exchange has helped me remember just how much I like the size 80 thread. I just need to practice TONS MORE on using the 'magic thread' technique.

I'm In A Dilemma!!!

I need some suggestions please!!! Hubby boss is having their yearly party on the 13th of this month. They have a gift exchange and have set the $ value to $40. per guy's gift and per lady's gift. I thought this year I would try something a little different and make something handmade.

Here are a couple of problems I'm dealing with:

1. I don't know how well the 'handmade' will go over, so I am finding myself second guessing everything.

2. I REALLY feel I am lacking in 'goodies' as what I have put together so far. Need more help here with some ideas. Here is what I have so far:

(2) dishcloths, knitted- one pink with a rose, one ecru with a seashell

(2) scrubbies, crocheted - one pink, one ecru (both made from nylon netting)

(2) potholders, crocheted- one pink, one ecru both to match the cloths.

(2) tribbles, knitted- one pink, one ecru again to match the cloths. (a tribble is like the scrubbies but made from the same 100% cotton yarn the cloths are made from.

I thought about making matching hand towels, but not sure I would have time, or even that I could get the 'rose' and 'shell' patterns centered right. I also thought about making a 'sack sock' combining the two colors in like a striped sack sock. I am currently thinking about making 2 more cloths using the same colors only no pattern. One more thing I thought about adding in, is a 'natural' colored doily I have crocheted using the 'pineapple' pattern.

Oh I am also going to include a couple of pints of my jams.

Late Happy Thanksgiving!!!

WoW time just seems to be in warp drive lately. I am beginning to think that is just 'normal' for the age I am at. The older I get the faster time seems to fly by.

I finally got the last tatting exchange I join caught up. I won't tell you which one, as I am so embarrassed I got so behind. It is in the mail. I have been also doing a little tatting, crocheting, and knitting. This blog posting will be rather long,, I hope I don't bore ya all to death. AND if I repeat any of it, I do apologize.

Where to start LOL I'll start with what I have been tatting, since I originally started these blogs for my tatting.

I can't remember if I posted this before or not. So I do apologize if I did. This is a bookmark I got from this summer a bookmark exchange I was in. This beautiful bookmark was tatted by Dorcas Newkirk. She got the pattern from an old Workbasket. She also sent me a beautiful ball of DMC size 80 tatting thread and some matching beads! THANK YOU Dorcas!!!! I have used the thread on a bookmark in my round robin. I'll post a pic of that in a day or so. I have to get the pics downloaded from the camera first. Sorry I don't have a link to Dorcas so I don't know if she has a blog or not.

This is a tatting exchange I received back in August. This lovely snowflake motif, bookmark and card with tatting on, is from Dr Tammy Turner. She also sent me some beautiful lavender beads and DMC Cebelia thread that matches. She and I both really love tatting with DMC Cebelia thread. Just wish they had more colors. Smaller sizes would be great too. Oh well, I was very tickled to get my goodies. And bless Tammy's dear heart,,,,she did her best to stay away from pink LOL! I think she did an awesome job THANK YOU Dr Tammy!!!

This is a motif I did by Jon in which I still need to practice this a lot. This was my second try. I like how it turned out even though I do need more practice. I now have more colors to do it in as well. The purple thread I got from my tatting exchange back in August. The thread is a size 20 DMC Cebelia, and Ecru in the same size and brand. Thank you Jon for the beautiful pattern!

This pattern was designed by Heather Isn't it just beautiful! I didn't realize it until I was cruising through Heather's patterns, I have done several of her patterns. So many children as well as adults love the little teddy bears of hers I tatted when first learning to tat! I really enjoyed making this fan. Though mine isn't quite as nice as Heather's is. I can tell I kind of got out of practice this summer, by not hardly tatting. So now I am trying to play catch up. I made this fan using some of my Rubi thread that I received from BJ in New Mexico. (Still enjoying my thread Bev!). Thank you Heather for the wonderful patterns!!!

This is a bookmark I gave recently to a friend of mine who shared her art booth with me a couple of weekends ago. Oh BTW while at the Art N Craft show, I was sitting there tatting, and had several ladies comment on it. Then I had two different ladies come in real close, to see how tatting was done, and they both want to learn. One got my email addy so I could try to find someone in her area when she is ready as she wants to tat her wedding veil whenever she gets married (right now she is in training for RN). The other lady took my number and gave me hers telling me to call her, IF she doesn't call me. She wants to LEARN tatting!!! LOL later I was doing another demo for a couple of knitters, and ended up messing up my bookmark (working in size 80 LOL) so of course when I got home where I could concentrate better, with a magnifying glass, I had to frog it, (half a chain and a ring). All in all it was a pretty great day, considering I was just going to give my friend some support and nothing else! I even made a little cash!

Here is a photo of the vest back to the vest I am learning to knit. This is my first ever vest!!!! The pattern is by Lion Brand Yarns, it is the Vest-In-A-Jiffy. I have knitted many simple dishcloths, one afghan (before now) and a scarf before. Now I am branching out. I can't wait to see the finish result. My wonderful neighbor/friend who is a spinner, knitter, crocheter, etc (fiber artist) is helping me.

Here is the first part of the vest front. I am currently at a stand still, as I am to the next part waiting for her to help me. But as I have a dumb cold, and her hubby has respiratory problems, we aren't about to chance passing this on to him. So for now the rest of the vest is in Limbo. Oh the yarn I am using is Red Heart 4 ply worsted. The color is Dark Orchid.

This is a 'row' counter I made with beads. I got the idea and directions from a new friend on a knitting community I just recently joined. I made up a couple of these and gave one to my neighbor (who doesn't really like the stitch/row counters on the market), which she fell in LOVE with this. The idea is you can pin it on your work, clipboard, or chair arm,,,and just slide a bead down when ya finish a row. I used two different color beads, so one would be for like the knit rows, and the other for the purl rows, etc. I was told I should make up more and try selling them. I don't know if it would be a good idea or not. They are really handy though.

Here is a Prayer Shawl I have been working on for about a year or so. I started it I guess last winter so it hasn't been quite a year. This I am knitting out of 100 % cotton yarn by Peaches & Creme in the 'Shaded Denim'. Not really using any certain pattern, just putting together some of the skills I learned in knitting my dishcloths. I am getting more anxious to get it finished now.

This is what I have done of a leg warmer I started this late summer, when I knee first started hurting so bad. None of the leg warmers I have are large enough, so I thought I would just make my own. At first it was moving along pretty fast, but then it kind of got laid off to the side. I am using Red Heart worsted 4 ply. The color is Heather. I need to finish it up, before it really does snow and gets cold. Pattern again is just what I have come up with using previous skills in knitting.

This is an afghan I have finally finished (except weaving in the tails) I have been knitting off and on for the last 2 years. It is made from Red Heart Bulky and Lofty yarn I think it is called. In Citrus Lemon, I think the color was. I found the yarn in the discontinued aisle at Wal-Mart back when our first grand baby was born. At first I thought I would make it for her, but then the further I got, I though, nope this will be a great 'grammy snuggle grand babies' blanket. Sooo Yep I'm keeping it. It sure was warm too when the temps dropped down to 20 degrees F.

Ok. I'll end here, if I haven't already put you to sleep LOL! Or if you stayed with me this long. I'll try to get the rest of my posting all caught up tomorrow with the pics. Which will be more tatting, knitting and some crochet.

Hello My Friends and Fellow Bloggers

Just an update real quick. I think I may be pulling out of this bug (whatever virus I caught) No sore throat anymore, just itching like crazy. So far (knock on wood) I don't have much of a cough, but still have a somewhat stuffed sinus'. Getting better I hope. Energy level is slowly picking back up as well.

I just finished last night knitting a blanket/aphgan I had been working for better part of a year on. It is made from a really bulky fluffy yarn. I'll post a pic as soon as I take one. Sure was nice working on, as it kept my legs VERY warm. Last night our temps dropped to 20°F so it was really nice covering up with through the night (even if I still need to weave the tails in LOL)!! I also finished the 'back' of my vest the neighbor is kindly teaching to me knit. I did that a couple days ago. I only have about 3 rows done on the next section. And I finished knitting a dishcloth I had been working on off and on all summer. So that is what I have covered in the knitting section while being sick and staying off my knee.

For the crochet UFOs,,,,I haven't gotten anything done there. Only finally dug out the other night. I will start working a bit at a time on it. I went online to try and find where I could order more yarn for it at a decent price since the closest Wal-Mart doesn't have the colors I need. I'll have to search a bit more, because I didn't find any. I am using 'Peaches & Creme 4 ply 100% Cotton in the 1 lb cones Colors #130 Shaded Pastels and #26 Light Blue. This thing is going to be REALLY HUMONGOUS when I get it finished. Maybe large enough to fit a King bed. It was really only suppose to be queen size, but well things don't always come out like I intended LOL!

Lastly is the Tatting,,,,I finished a bookmark, but as I was finishing it, I realized I had made a mistake in it further back than I was going to take out. Soooo I finished it anyway (except working in the tails) and started it over again. Only this time using a smaller thread. I went from size 30 to size 80 WoW what a difference!!!! I keep finding myself asking how in the world did I ever tat with quilting thread!!!!!!!!!!!! Good thing with tatting one can still tat without seeing 'real' clearly the stitches. My buddy the magnifying glass has been real close on hand again he he he.

Anyway, looks like I am going to have a passel of pics to take as before too long. I have about 5 tatted pieces, 1 afghan, 1 partial vest, and a dishcloth all to take pics of. LOL Which helps in my photography too LOL!

Latest Happenings

Well I am almost finished with the jams. Actually I am done with making jams, just going to finish off the rest of the apples making juice and sauce. But for now I am kind of out of commission for a bit as I have a knee that is just killing me with pain! I don't know what is wrong with it, but hubby wants me off of it for a couple weeks. Sooooo with that being said,,I'm trying my best to stay off, which is pretty hard with so much to be done. But,,,I getting some UFO's finished!

I'm working on knitting, crochet and yeppers even tatting!!!! I am FINALLY getting some tatting done!!! NO pics yet, but will just as soon as I can!

My neighbor (who is an awesome spinner, she has alpacas,,,,) has me started on knitting my very first vest! I keep thinking I should take some photos of beginning, and as I progress,,,I'll see about doing that. That is if anyone is interested.

Other than that, I am enjoying the grand daughters just as much as possible. And doing a little with some of my photography (photos I took through the summer that is).

Well I better run, hubby's turn at the puter. :)

Whoooo Hoooo, yeppers, I'm a Grammy again to a beautiful 8 lb 4 oz, 20 1/4 inch long baby girl. Here name is Madison (Maddie for short). She was born September 29, @ 7:58 pm (Pacific Time). Her little sister is pretty proud of her. Boy was she worried about the 'baby' crying LOL. Monique our oldest grand daughter just turned 2 on the 20th of Sept.
Meanwhile I have been pretty busy putting jams. Made a really delicious 'Banana Butter', 'Caramel Apple Jam', 'Black Cherry Beet Jam', 'Blackberry Jam', 'Huckleberry Jam' and then today I put up 16 pints and 6 half pint of 'Blackberry Apple' jam. I still have (5) 5-gallon buckets of apples to put up yet. But they are gonna have to wait a couple days, as I am going camping tomorrow (just for one day n night). Maybe I'll get a little tatting done!!! I am really suffering from withdrawals, seeing all the GORGEOUS tatting being done. Can't wait to try some new patterns.
Well it is getting kind of late and I still need to pack up what I'm taking camping. I know there are several of you visiting my blogs, I want to thak you for stopping by!

25-Motif Challenge, Tatting Exchange and Update attempting,,,,,

Hello everyone!

Well I am going to attempt to catch up my tatting blogging. The photos for garden pics will have to come later, if I can get that caught up. Right now, I can't make any promises. I feel sooooo behind. I don't know HOW ya all keep up like you do!!!!

To begin with, I'll start off with posting pics for my Motif Challenge which is also part of my tatting exchanges as well.

Here are Motifs 17-23.

The first are bookmarks for my May Bookmark Exchange. The green & white bookmark went to Singapore, using DMC Cebelia size 30 Color # 699 green and BLANC (white). I can't remember right at the moment just where I found the pattern, other than it was in one of my tatting books. I'll edit this posting as soon as I find the pattern. The Yellow bookmark stayed here in the states. I used JP Coats Big Ball Best 6-cord in size 30 color # 10A (bright yellow). The pattern is by Kersti Anear "Floral". This was another fun pattern as I am sure many of you have done yourself! Seems to be a pretty popular pattern! I also used the same pattern for the other two bookmarks using some more of my wonderful Rubi thread I received from a dear and sweet tatter.

For motifs 21-23,,,,(these were my July Christmas exchange) I used for the snowflake, again the DMC Cebelia BLANC size 30 thread. Pattern is by Teri Dusenbury. I just LOVE her snowflake patterns. Course the partial one, I ran out of thread on my shuttle and couldn't remember which of two whites I used. So I ended it there and figured it could be appliqued onto something. What ever my partner wishes to use it for. Then the Heart is done in a variegated blue- another JP Coats thread in the best 6-cord size 30 Color # 13. Design is by Susan K Fuller "Heart's Desire" found on Georgia Seitz' site. I really enjoyed doing this pattern. I have a second one in progress. Pic will come later along with details. Then lastly the 3-d Rose Brooch pin by Jeanne Lugert is done in another JP Coats thread 6-cord size 30 variegated purple for the outside rings and the yellow used in the bookmark for the inside part of the rings. Followed by the DMC Cebelia size 30 Color #699 for the green petal background.

Here is what I got for my Bookmark exchanges (I still need to get a pic of the bookmark from Valerie from Singapore). Dorcas sent me a beautifully multicolored bookmark along with these beautiful beads and thread! (thank you very much Dorcas!) I'll edit in Valerie's as soon as I get a photo taken and downloaded. (Thank you too Valerie!!!!)

Now I have one last exchange I am in the process of catching up! I am sooo behind .

As to what else I have been doing,,,,Besides the 'trying' to garden,,,I have had to water most all summer by hand starting in July. It seems the well that has 32 members on,,is not only contaminatedwiht uranium,,,but it is running low,,,so low they have now put us on restrictions, where we pay $36.00 for only 6,000 gallons of water instead of the normal 12,000 gallons per month. So hubby has been hauling water in two 55-gal barrels, emptying them into 55 gal barrels so that I can water using a watering can through the day. He hauls about 4 barrels a day for not only our garden beds, but also our renter's garden beds. Sadly my garden beds haven't done as well as I have hoped they would. Then as if that wasn't enough,,,our water line has sprung a leak in July! We hopefully have that fixed after having to dig by hand through rock n clay 4 foot down and a hole about 4 foot across (which I dug most of, ). Last week I FINALLY had to get away, so I went on a camping trip with a friend. We were up on the mountain top for about 5 days. We picked huckleberries, did some campfire cooking a little hiking. Seen some deer almost right in our camp, until her dogs ran them off LOL! Other than that we just sat around the campfire and worked on crafts. Me knitting leg warmers, and on an afghan, along with a little tatting, she worked on a sanding a sculpture she is carving on our of alabaster (if I remember right) Beautiful horses! Then of course I had to end the trip coming down sick! So besides diarrhea, I have a sore throat and chills. We 'were' suppose to go back for a couple more days, but things happened at her house, and well, I'm still sick with a sore throat.

OK,,,I think before I for sure put ya all asleep I better end this thing, if I haven't already bored ya stiff LOL! Catch ya on the next round. Blessings my friends!!!

Hello dear friends,

Thought I would grab a few minutes this morning to let ya all know what has been happening in my neck of the woods. LOL!

I haven't gotten a whole lot of tatting done because I am still busy with greenhouse n gardening. I'll try to get some pics of my 'little' greenhouse and post in a few days. Also helped a friend build a greenhouse, which we also have almost full as well. Also had to start working on the yard. The grass is growing like crazy with all the rain we keep getting. I wish I could sent it people in dryer parts that need it.

I have been 'trying' to get my May tatting exchange done, I keep goofing up the pattern, worse is it is just a dumb mistake, I seem to keep making over and over (not focusing I guess LOL), then when I had one almost done PERFECT the darn thread broke on me in closing a ring. And again a second one did the same thing, only I was closer to finishing this time.

For 2 weekends in a row, we had our older sons and thier wives visit (each one separately), which was so enjoyable, then Mother's Day our other son AND daughter also came out to visit as well, besides getting to have our grand daughter for 3 weekends in a row (almost). Sadly our youngest son who is expecting a second baby in Sept, his wife has decided to leave him yet again. If only her parents would leave them alone, her dad is EXTREMELY controlling among other things. Boy Mother's Day sure felt like a whole week had gone by (hard one at that) all in one day, with the problems that arose! And they are sadly just beginning.

Let's see, I think that about covers all, got 2 dishcloths knitted and a 3rd is little more than half way done. Also got my living room all re-arranged yesterday. Our neighbor had given us a really nice hide-a-bed couch.

Well I guess I better close as I have to go get busy. I pray all is going well for everyone else. I have read a few of you have been or are sick or in pain, I pray you will heal quickly!

25-Motif Challenge, Tatting Exchange and Update

Hello my friends!

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. Been busy trying to get a greenhouse up and some plants a'going for the garden. I finally got around to downloading some pics of tatting I did for my 'Round Robin' partners and 25-Motif challenge.

This first pic is Motif 11, 12 and 13 for the challenge. Also these are my first every bookmarks I have done. As you can see there are a few mistakes in the first ones. But the last two are the best ones, I sent to one of 'Round Robin' partners.

Motifs 14, 15 & 16

In this one, These are some of my first ever 3-D flowers, I could ya could say LOL flowers anyway. I had a blast doing the rose, in fact I did several, just ended up giving them all away, when I thought I had pics of them. Oh well. These were done for my last 'Round Robin' partner.

25 Motif Challenge #10

The pattern I used for this doily can be found in "Easy Tatting" by Rozella F. Linden. I found it a little confusing in the beginning as it refers you to about 3 different pattern pages. The first round being really simple of course. I don't why I had such a problem on the second round, could be because I had a lot of distractions too (1 1/2 yr old grand daughter).The variegated thread is J.P. Coats Cotton Knit-Cro-Sheen Color # 165 Pastels, and green is Aunt Lydia's Size 10 Color # 154 Frosty Green. I would liked to have used a darker green, but just didn't have one. But I think I'll see if I can find some, (if nothing else in my 'Unidentified' threads) and do another using a darker green. I really do LOVE the way the colors turned out on this though, especially the pastels! Once started it actually does go really fast.

2008-Motif #05 Challenge (1).

Finished WIP. I made this using Rubi Thread in Black for chains and Variegated Orange for rings. The pattern I used is "Lacy Medallion Luncheon Set" found in 'The Tatter's Treasure Chest' edited by Mary Carolyn Wathrep. My daughter just loved this doily so she is now the owner of it LOL!

2008-Motif #06 Challenge (5)

This is another finished WIP using what I believe is a 6-cord size 30 thread, I think by J.P. Coats. The pattern I used is "Lacy Medallion Luncheon Set" found in 'The Tatter's Treasure Chest' edited by Mary Carolyn Waldrep. This is the first time I have ever done split chains and split rings for climbing out round by round. I have done the split rings before, just not the split chains!

2008-Motif #07 Challenge.
This is a little project I was working on, more information will come later. I can tell you though, the thread used is DMC Cebelia size 30. The white beads are Mill Hill seed beads, the Other angel has Czech glass beads. The pattern design is by Eileen Stafford "Leens Tatted Angel"

2008-Motif #07-a Challenge.
This is an angel I made for a friend, again using the same thread and beads. The white thread came in my tatting exchange. THANK YOU Dr TLT (Tammy). The pattern is (besides the goof I made in the wings) by Eileen Stafford "Leens Tatted Angel".

2008-Motif #08 Challenge.
This is a pair of turtle earrings I made back when I went on a ski trip last Christmas with a girlfriend. I came down with the flu, so needless to say, I didn't leave the room. I still had a blast anyway. The pattern is from some cards from Palmetto tatting days, if I remember right 2004, but can't remember for sure.
2008-Motif #09 Challenge.
This is part of a round robin project I am participating in. The top one is a goof I made in the bookmark, making too many chains. My daughter LOVED it though, and wants a bracelet made like it. The bottom is actually what the bookmark is to look like, only I used a green for the chains. In both of these I used Rubi thread, a variegated purple and a variegated green. (quickely running out of my rubi threads LOL) Sure enjoying them though! The pattern design is by Gale Marshall - "Tatted Linked Ring"

Tatting Exchange for March- Doilies

Hello friends!

Well I am FINALLY getting this somewhat caught up. Things around our house have been rather crazy! Despite all the craziness, I have at least been able to get some tatting done. I got pics of the tatting done, so as you can tell they are posted. But for my crocheting and knitting, I haven't gotten pics yet!

I'll start with my tatting Exchange! I entered the tatting exchange for March, and BOY did I get a surprise! My partner had the same idea, talk about 'great minds work alike!' We both made the "Chrysanthemum" by Gun Blomqvist and Elwy Persson. I made these two doilies:

Below is the goodie box I sent, but I also added a ball of Rubi variegated pink thread too.

Here is the doily I got from my tatting partner. Along with a ball of DMC Cebelia White size 30 thread and some really pretty white beads. Both will come in another post, if I can get the pics to posts.

Needles, Hooks, Shuttles N flying threads!!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I have actually been pretty busy, tatting, knitting, knitting and crocheting! I have an afghan I have been knitting on for almost a year now, a shawl I have been knitting on for almost a year now, and afghan I have been crocheting on for almost 2 years ( queen size and hard to find thread), as well as my tatting exchanges!

We also just recently got a new renter, so I have been pretty busy helping her get settled in, and then as if she needed the extra stress, she caught a bug somewhere, so today she has been down in bed all day.

Anyway, I'll get some pics posted as soon as I can, hopefully in a few days or sometime this next week anyway!

New 25 Motif Challenge

I have decided to give the 25-Motif Challenge another go again. I learned so much doing it,,,so here is my Motif # 1.

I used a pattern by Anne Orr 'Large Round Medallion No. 15, using Rubi thread in colors Red and White.
This one my oldest daughter-in-law said she would LOVE to have a table cloth made using this, but she also knew it would it would be kind of expensive, but would actually take a LOT of time to do, so she wasn't going to ask for one!

Here is Motif #2:

This is another pattern from Anne Orr, 'Round Medallion No. 24. All done in Rubi variegated orange. My daughter LOVED this one. Surprised me, actually SHOCK is more like it, I didn't know she liked orange!

Motif #3:

Here is another one I did using Anne Orr's pattern, 'Pointed Tatted Medallion No. 21' using Rubi thread in Red and Grey. This one, I was SURE glad to have finished, though I think it is really pretty. It took me almost to the end of the last round before I finally got the pattern down enough to do without constantly following the directions. I do like it though, and it already has a new home. A girlfriend fell in love with it.
BTW Motifs 1, 2 and 3 besides the next 2 are all done in the month of Feb. I can't believe how far I have come since first learning to tat, less than a year ago.

Motif #4:

This is a 'Barrette' pattern I found by Christiane Eichler 1996. I made it using Rubi thread again, in black and grey. Then I gave it as a surprise to my daughter for her long hair, with a hair pin stick that has a carved bead of some sort on the end. I may need to add to it though, because she has pretty thick and long hair.

WIP (Work In Progress):

This is a 'WIP' I am doing. It is actually a doily from 'Tatter's Treasure Chest' edited by Mary Carolyn Waldrep (another book hubby surprised me with last week, along with 3 others by 'Dover publishers'. I actually have almost 5 completed round on it now. I realized as I was only 3 rings away from finishing round 4, that I goofed, and so I ended up with more chains and rings then pattern called for. But I wasn't about to re-do the 'whole' round again. Especially when I am almost out of the black Rubi thread.
What do you think about this color combo? Too weird??

25 Motif Challenge FINAL

Here is my FINAL motif for my 'First' 25 Motif Challenge

This is the pattern of the original design I used for my tatting exchange, then I got the idea of trying beads, since I was pretty close to doing the 'drop down' picot anyway, it just lacked the picot. I sent this one home to my middle daughter-in-law.

This was my first try using the beads. But I goofed on the bottom, and had to re-do it. LOL I didn't realize my mistake until I was almost to the top. Anyway my oldest daughter-in-law LOVED it! So I gave it to her.

This is the heart I sent to my 'Heart Tatting Exchange' partner, besides the small red one with the white butterfly and white teardrop.

This is my surprise goodies that was in the card from Arlene! She did a really TERRIFIC job! Her tatting is really beautiful!

The red heart is a 'pineapple Split-Ring by Shery Matthews2004 pattern. The thread Arlene used is a #50 discontinued Flora.

25 Motif Challenge-Motifs #23 and 24

WoW, I can't believe it!!! I have done ALL 25 of my motifs for the challenge (officially) but I can't post my 25th one just yet. As it is for my tatting exchange and I don't want to blow the surprise as my partner will see it, I have no doubt. LOL! So as soon as she gets it, I'll post it, along with the others I did in practice LOL.

This challenge has been a real enjoyment! I have can honestly say I have learned soooo much too!! I am really surprised at how fast it went, and can go!

Here is motif 23:

This is a pattern by Mark Myers, 'shuttle'. I had some left over thread I on my shuttles, so I decided to try this pattern. I just ran out of the pink before I could do my last two rings, and (being lazy) besides not want to put a bunch of thread on the shuttles again, I just finished it off with the green.

This little heart is a pattern by Mark Myers for 9/11. I used some of the neat Rubi thread that was sent to me from BJ in NM! Thank you both, Mark and BJ!!!!

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my projects as much as I have enjoyed making them and learning! Yep I am definitely hooked on tatting now! So I will continue to share what I learn and make.

Just a quick note

Just wanted to post a quick note to let you all know I am still around. Just been busy with housecleaning, crocheting an edging that was ordered by a friend for a jewelry box she is having custom made for her daughter-in-law. I have also been working on my International Tatting Exchange project. I actually had it done, but decided to try it again, but experimenting with something I'll let you all know the details when it is over, so that way it will be a surprise to my partner.

The temps here have also been down in low low teens and single digits. Last night we got below 0 F. I am SOOOOOO READY for Spring! At least I have some flowers in the house blooming and getting ready to bloom!

Tatted Pocket Angel-

I had a bit of thread left on a shuttle, so I thought I would give this pattern a try:

This adorable 'Pocket Angel – Mary in SE Iowa' I made in a Rubi thread, varigated violet blues. I kind of messed up on it, in the fact, I totally FORGOT to put in the last picot. So I used my crochet hook, going down through my ds and pulled up the thread, then joining. Will be making more of these. I too want to share these with service men and women,,,and anyone else I think could use one!

Motif #21 This pattern is by Bob The Bike. I am afraid I didn't do it justice. I'm not real sure what I did different, but it didn't turn out with the pretty shape his has. I used Rubi Thread Colors: 1242 (pale yellow) and 9172 (varigated violetblues) Thank you Bob for such a pretty design! It was fun doing!!!

Motif # 22 Here is my second attempt at Jon's 'Hearts Snowflake' with a ring. This time I did what I wanted in doing every other ring the same as the chain so the hearts stand out better. I think I should have done the ring itself in a different color though. Oh well,,,I think it turned out fair anyway. I used Rubi Thread Colors: 1242 (pale yellow) and 9172 (varigated violetblues) Thank you Jon for a delightful pattern!

25 Motif Challenge Motif #20

I did a little practicing on some new techniques the last couple of days. One I didn't take a photo of, just a bit of a piece trying to do tatted chain links. Pretty cool!!!,,, but I definitely

will have to practice more on that one. LOL I wish I could have taken pics

of my hubby, daughter and friend's reactions when they seen it! LOL My

friend had to have a magnifying glass, it was pretty funny!

Motif # 20

The second technique was my first try at covering a cabone ring. I used Jon's pattern where she used the Hearts Snowflake. I didn't get brave enough to

include the beads, as I was mainly trying to learn to cover a ring. Took a

bit of studying the pattern to make sure I had the right number of ds and

picots in the right places. But I did it! In two colors too. Just wish I had

thought enough ahead and did every other ring on the second round in the same color as my chain, so the hearts would have showed up better. Oh well,,,, live n learn!

25 Motif Challenge

Remember this 'work in progress' (Light pink on dk green background)? Well this piece I gave to the grand baby! LOL It fit here like a pretty little bracelet. I redid it from scratch, since I still had the same problem of it gathering too much in the center (previously I thought it was because I didn't get my threads ALL 1/4" spaced, but this time I measured each one as I did it, and still had the same problem. Sooo I just added more rings, ended up with 20 small rings and 20 large rings. The 'lt blue background' is the finished result. The pattern is from page 7 of "Tatting 60 Original Lace Treasures" by Christel Weidmann Design 2. I used Anchor Pearl Cotton Size 12 (I think that is how to read it), Color # 00048. Then I stiffened it with Hair Spray.

This is the second 'In progress' Before (dark green background) I finish it. Now I just need to see if I can find a metal ring for placing it into. Probably bracelet size will work.The thread is Superior Threads Perfect Quilter size 100. Not sure the color. I think it is #021. The pattern I am using "The Cherub Doily". The one I used showed a pic of the doily in the middle of a metal ring like a sun catcher. If you can tell me if Ann Wilson is the original designer or who is, please do!! 7. I would rather listen to music than watch TV, but do love old westerns and classics as long as they aren't scary or gory shows.

25 Motif Challenge

I decided to take a couple days off from the computer. On Christmas day (though we don't celebrate it) I spent the day watching movies with hubby (old westerns) and tatting.

I really love this pattern by Bob The Bike! I hope he approves! I may do up another in another color. I made this one in Rubi varigated green. I can't tell you much else about the thread, as I don't understand the language on it. The thread was a WONDERFUL surprise from BJ in New Mexico!

While I have thread left over on my shuttle, I decided to try something using bugle beads. So I made this dove earring by JoAnn Stearns. I just need to make the mate now. I wasn't sure I would be able to work it with all of those beads on. Little tricky but I succeeded. Not sure how well I like the result though.

25 Motif Challenge

Man I HATE re-doing messages! I had a whole message typed and photos included, hit the publish, and it came up with nothing. So here I go again.

Here is my latest tattings along with some I have done, just didn't post for various reasons.

This Light pink is done using an Anchor pearl cotton size 12 (I think). I got it in the Ruth Perry Sale. The pattern is from 'Tatting- 60 original Lace Treasures by Christel Weidmann' a book also from Ruth's Sale. At first I didn't think I was going to want to finish this. But I like the delicate lacey look to it. This is actually design #1, originally planned for design #2, but I think I will redo design #2 so that it lays flatter. I started out not making my 1/4 inch spaces even until too late. Sign I need more practice for sure. So since I have enough of the thread, I'm going to do just that.

This one is another work in progress. I LOVE this thread. It is a quilting thread I got from a good box from BJ in New Mexico. The thread is Superior Threads Perfect Quilter size 100. Not sure the color. I think it is #021. The pattern I am using (Have one more round to go) is "The Cherub Doily". I can't remember just where on the net I got the pattern. As soon as I find out, I'll edit it in here. This of course isn't going to be a doily size as this is only about 2 inches across. I really LOVE these colors though!!!!

The top one in blue n white is where I was emptying the last in a shuttle. The green is a Majestic thread Size 80 from Patti D in Spokane WA. The pattern is one of Wally's Tat-along Projects. This is one, I haven't decided what else to with it, that is why I hadn't posted sooner,,,so I guess it could be considered a work in progress as well. The tails are still on these, I just cloned them out. Nothing is blocked yet.

Again the top one is finishing what was on a shuttle. The multi-color is also finishing what was in a shuttle. It is a King Tut thread from the thread exchange. I was trying to do a little something for my mom, but ran out. Don't know what I will do with these yet.

This is my Motif # 13 This is a play around using a tab off a potatoe sack, like used on bread only longer. This is a 'Dove' pattern by JoAnn Stearns. I really like this little dove. I think I will use her idea and make some earrings using this pattern. I'll probably add beads to the ones I make for earrings. LOL I sure thought this 25 Motif Challenge would go faster! But then again when distracted with other projects and an adorable little grand baby. Things do slow down a bit.

This is Motif #14. I used J.P. Coats Best 6 cord Big Ball in an off-white color of some sort. Size 20. I added seed beads I got from Ruth's sale. The design is again from Wally's Tat-along project.

Well there ya have it,,, my projects in progress and finished projects. I didn't as much done I wanted to while I was on my 4-day trip to the ski resort in Canada as I ended up with some bug I guess. Just didn't feel well. I didn't even get any photos from the trip. It was a really nice place. Seen tons of elk (some really Majestic bulls) and lots of cows. Some places on the way (after dark) we had to go slow as they were bedding down on the highway. We also seen a HUGE lynx too! Really awesome!

Well here they are, I told you I would post some photos of the snow we got today. The weather said we were to get about a foot of snow in the valleys, and up to 2 foot in the mountains,,,well I hate to think what the mountains REALLY got! We are only about about 1000 foot above the valley and we got about 2 foot of snow, before it turned off this evening about dark and started raining. Thank goodness our daughter got up on the roof and shovelled the snow off when she got home from work.

The snow on the bird feeder is all NEW snow just today! The snow on the bird bath, about 4 inches of it was from a few days ago. Both of the photos are from of our backyard. Threw these trees it looks out over the river valley floor.

Here hubby is showing how much snow we got just since he cleaned off the jeep earlier this morning. The Jeep was completely cleaned off except the very top hump on top of the jeep.

These two photos are looking out the front of our house. This bird feeder is what I see from my desk. You can't really tell it, but the highway is there just in front of that cliff in the background!

Here is one of the poor birdhouses, all of this is new snow too. As I am typing this though, there probably isn't any snow left on any of these, as the wind has really come up, besides all the rain.

Venting time!!!!

UGH, I was just up until wee hours of the morning uploading some photos onto another site similiar to Multiply where some family members are. Only to wake up this morning to find that the site removed EVERY photo including the photo I put in for my profile, deeming them all as 'inappropiate'!!!! I sure don't understand where they get photos of tatting, crocheting and sewing would be inappropiate. I put in the description where I got each pattern, the kind of thread I used, AND my images all have my own copyright on them. I read in thier policy, no copyrighted images unless they are your own. Well duh,,,,you would think when they see '©RainbowRose Photography' in albums by 'Rainbow Rose Connie' that would say SOMETHING!!! All the images are the same exact images I have posted here on this blog. They even removed my face photo!

I am seriously thinking of leaving, that is just too crazy. They have where photos of a single person, child by itself, 'YOU as a child, or an animal by itself, can not be shared! I don't agree with porn or anything wierd like that, but this is going a bit tooooo far!!!!

Ok I'll step down now. I did email so waiting for reply. Sorry about this, I had to vent.

We now have another foot of snow and it is still coming down. Suppose to keep on until snowing like this until Monday late Monday afternoon. I will try and get some photos in a bit and post.

UPDATE: Well I got a reply back, they apologized and want me to re-submit my photos again and they will post IF they are approved. Just not sure I feel like going through that 3 hours of work again, with uploading and then posting in the descriptions for each again. Especially since they may not be approved again.

25 Motif Challenge

Both this doily and motif are from Wally Sosa's Tat-along Projects 2002!

The doily I used Clarks O.N.T 6-chord Size 30 in a varigated blue.
My blocking didn't turn out so well. LOL At least this one laid somewhat flat though a little wavy. My first doily (still in the unfinished box) is probably going to be a basket of some sort with the way it cupped (haven't scanned it yet!

This motif is my second attempt at using beads! My blocking didn't turn to well either! My daughter still really likes it!

The thread used on this is a natural (I think no color number or color was listed) J.P. Coats Size 20 Best Six Chord Big Ball. The beads are black seed beads I got from Ruth Perry's Online Garage Sale. I don't know what size, I am guessing they are 11/0.

Well today I woke to a SURPRISE!!!! We had about a foot of snow through the night! It warmed up enough during the first part of the day that it melted down to about 6 inches. As I am typing this, I am seeing out my window a GORGEOUS full moon peeking out through some clouds. Gonna be a pretyt COLD night tonight!!!

Made up a few more snowflakes! Think after these I may take a break, though I have to do up an order first. These I tried stiffening them with hair spray. Doesn't work too bad actually. Could be just a touch stiffer, but otherwise sure not as messy as the glue/water combo.

We really covet your prayers for a need that is hitting our family. At 9 am central time and 10 am eastern time our daughter Dana and our granddaughter will be going to court to have her ex-husband's rights revoke to visit her's/his daughter because of the fact that he has fallen far from grace. He is an alcoholic/drug addict and has done things with our granddaughter that is not fitting. There will also be coming up another court case against him which, if convicted, will get him jail time. We ask that you pray for Dana and our granddaughter for the strenght to go through this trial and that ALL the truth will be revealed...NO MATTER WHAT IT IS. And that the lies that he and his mother will swear to in court will stick in their mouths. We also ask that you pray that this will in NO WAY scare our granddaughter. And last but certainly not least, we ask that you pray for her so-called father(Jeff). NO ONE is beyond help when they are placed before the throne of Grace. Please stand in the gap for Jeff that Father will open his eyes to how deep he has dug the hole that he is in. Thank you

How about Snowflakes!!!!

Well, I have been busy crocheting up some snowflakes for friend's business. I got about 36 done. Now I just need to make some more black ones and some silver ones. I thought I would share with some of the snowflakes I have done. The two slightly different designs with the picot are all done from a pattern I got off the web where I re-designed the pattern so that it has a large opening in the center. The snowflakes with only picots around the outside is called "Regal Snowflake" design by Julie A. Bolduc and the snowflakes with the picot petals on through the flake, the original design is "Snowflake 2". I'm not sure who the original designer is as there is no name on the site where I got the pattern. Then like I stated, I re-designed it giving it a center hole for attaching little danglies in. I do hope you enjoy looking. Some of these are actually made with threads that have a metallic thread running through them, though it doesn't show up too well in some of the photos.

Doily

Here is the doily I have been talking about I finally finished. Didn't really take that long to do. I made it with DMC 100% cotton size 10 thread. Color #5745 Banana Yellow. It is approximately 22 inches in diameter. The pattern is "Venus In View" by Glendola Hodges published in the Magic Crochet Feb. 1992 #76 magazine issue pages 42-43.

I really like how this one turned out.

BTW any and all comments are more than WELCOME on my work, as it helps me to learn and grow!

Babies Here N Coming!!!!

As I was saying in before posts, I have some baby blankets I made and a crocheted one I got finished. Here are the 3 blankets I made, all are polar fleece (nice and soft):

This first one was given to a family that Hubby works with. They had a beautiful baby girl. Talk about a head FULL of dark hair!!!!

This one was given to a friend of our daughter's. Her beautiful baby was a boy and a miracle baby. She had had several mis-carriages previously. So this little guy is definitely a special one.

This one was made specially for our neighbor who had a beautiful baby girl! She not only has a BEAUTIFUL head of hair, it is really long (I have never seen a baby with hair so long before), it looked a touch frosted too, though it wasn't. She came in at 22 inches long, and if I remember right about 8 pounds.

This is my crocheted baby blanket (afghan). It is for a friend of the our two youngest kids. Can't tell you yet what their baby is like other than we know it is a girl. She is due in Nov, I think about the second week or so.

Wow, most the afternoon is gone. I didn't get any crafting done today. I went out to plant a rose bush and next thing I know, I have planted daylilies, ornamental grass, cranesbill geranium, 3 different shade loving plants, a vinca vine, couple of other flowering plants, did some mowing, pick a couple of potatoes, peppers, carrots, peas and beets. Besides hauling water to the dogs. I think it is time for a break. LOL!

Hopefully later I'll get a pic taken of my doily I finished crocheting last week, and get the pics posted of it and the baby blankets I made.

25 Motif Challenge

Well I am finally getting back. Been pretty sick for a couple of days with the flu. Still trying to recover from it. At least things have slowed down enough I have been able to get scanned the latest motifs I have done. All are tatted except for one is crocheted as I have a friend who is talking about hiring me to do some projects for her. More later if she does.

Motif #08

This is using a pattern by Mary Donohue aka Icela.
I used a sportweight yarn, I thought was some alpaca, but later found out it wasn't. Also when I starched it, I pulled it into points instead of leaving rounded like the pattern. But again I was also practicing not reversing my work. I was surprised at how easy the yarn did work up. I figured I would have alot of problems with it.
OH BTW this is her Square Motif/Coaster pattern

Motif #09

This motif here I used Wally Sosa's Base motif #2 Just using some
Knit-cro-sheen metallic as an experiment using thread with metallic mix with it.
The small blossom is just trying to use up what was left on shuttle. Not real sure
I like using metallic thread. Will definitely need more practice!!!

Motif #10

This is a "Butterfly Snowflake" by Samatha Melnychuk.
I can't say if I liked doing this pattern or not. LOL. Actually it was pretty easy, next time I would definitely want to use a picot gauge for the antennae. Then tying little knots in the ends,,,,,,,THAT was a CHALLENGE. LOL I used two pair of pointed tweezers to do it.
I used Clarks O.N.T 6-chord Size 30 in a varigated blue.

This one is crochet. I'm not sure of the thread, other than it is probably a knit-cro-sheen in an off-white/cream color. The name of the pattern is 'Regal Snowflake' design by Julie A Bolduc. I got it from the internet as I of course do with most all of my patterns.

About Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacle), it was a BLAST even though the last half of it was mostly rainy and chilly. My second day there I also caught a cold, which thanks to some of the people there who had some essential oils, it helped me get over it really quick. I met a lot of new people who live in my area or at least the surrounding area. We are talking of possibly getting together for a small campout for Passover too, at least a gathering. Made some great friends. Was also very educational. I can't say there hasn't been a Sukkot yet in which Abba Father hasn't taught or helped me something I have been struggling with or needed to learn.

25 Motif Challenge # 7

Here is my motif #7, made using Linda S. Davies' "Elegant Coaster" design. I used DMC Cebelia size 10 thread in color #745 Banana Yellow. I really like this color. I made 2 mistakes on this motif,,, can you find them? The first I didn't find until I was joining my last chain, the second, I found while blocking it. Yep you guessed it, I'll redo this one too! Just bugs me when I don't do things right.

I was going to do Jon's idea of her 'Hearts Snowflake' pattern using beads and this color, since I had plenty of thread left on the shuttle, but needless to say, no way was my seed beads going to fit over this thread.

Well I am getting fairly close to being packed (I think), still need to figure out a few more potluck meals. I am still in the 'family' mode from when the kids were home and having to plan lots of extra to feed them,,, sure is different just being me. I am the only one going (besides a furry companion, my son's dog I am spoiling, she started out mine LOL), hubby and daughter have to work, besides aren't really into the 'camping out' thing. I got my reservation made for my camping spot, and it is suppose to be pretty must next to one of the rivers (Twin Rivers Canyon Resort), where I can also fish. Looking forward to it!!!

25 Motif Challenge- Motif 6

I just finished this 'Hearts Snowflake' by Jon Yusoff last night.

I don't think I quite did Jon' beautiful pattern justice. I also used some beautiful thread I received in the thread exchange, Omega 100% Cotton Size 50 Color # unknown (pink), I got from Sunela Thomas. THANK YOU both Jon and Sunela for the materials to work with.

I will probably at some point in the near future try this pattern again as well. I like the thread as well, but I definitely need a little more practice.

Thank you to the members of HBT (Here-Be-Tatters) I quit having near the problems with closing my rings when the thread twists on me. This is the one I was working on, when I let my temper get the best of me:( Won't be doing that again, I hope!!!

Anyway,,,,THANK YOU ALSO to ALL who leave me such wonderful comments. I do try to reply back and GREATLY APPRECIATE your comments. Please also feel free to leave me tips and suggestions as that is how I LOVE learning and growing. Yom Kippur

Shabbat Shalom all and Yom Kippur,

Well I was right, there was indeed a couple of earthquakes yesterday, in fact one of them wasn't even over on the west coast. It was right over at Spokane, Washington. The one I was feeling coming on at the time of my posting yesterday. Hubby did a search last night. He watches that and my moods. LOL he has gotten to where he gets on the computer now and then afterward, says, so at such and such time, you were having problems today huh? About 98% of the time he is right on the nose.

Well I started last night trying to decided just what tatting I wanted to take along with me to Sukkot. LOL I think I am going to end up with taking more projects than I can actually do, oh well, at least I won't run out. But then again, even if I do,,,, I'll be close enough to home (about 18 miles), to pick up more.

I was on a last round of another motif, when well, my temper kind of got the best of me, and when my shuttle and ball twisted together, I after a couple of minutes trying to untwist them, finally yanked on them, and yep, ya guessed it, thread broke, of course only leaving me about an inch to tie with (so I wouldn't have to re-do my clover). Thank goodness my temper SELDOM gets to me like that. In fact that is actually the first time with tatting. Usually I can just lay it down BEFORE I reach that point. Yesterday just wasn't good. I know, I know, that isn't any excuse.

Onward,,,, I forgot to tell ya,,, a couple weeks ago, while I was over in my studio looking for crochet thread (while I was doing doilies) I found a piece of tatting a really pretty edging. I don't know who did it, or really where I got it, but it was still pretty exciting. I also found a collar and beaded bag. I'll try to get those posted before I leave for Sukkot.

Well at least today is a much better day. Ya all have a truly BLESSED day!!!!

I seem to be having one of those days,,,,
Actually it isn't that things are going all wrong,,,,just a feeling I guess. I am trying to figure out my camping list (don't even know for sure yet if I am going to be able to go (finances). For those who don't know what I am talking about, I celebrate the Feast Of Tabernacle (Sukkot). It doesn't help when for those unknown reasons I just feel antsy, (usually happens with earthquakes along the west coast).
Anyway on breaks I have a motif I am tatting while thinking about what I need to do with the other 3 I am working on.
Anyway, just needed to chat a bit I guess. LOL.

25 Motif Challenge- Motif 5

Here is a Snowflake I just finished last night. Thank you to the group members of Here-Be-Tatters, explaining what I was doing wrong on throwing off rings from the chain. I was too far along to change, so I will definitely be practicing on my next one. I kind of actually like this pattern, so I may try it again only the 'correct' way this time.

I used DMC Cebelia Pink and Ecru size 30.

This isn't the doily or motif I was trying to do for my mom, I still have to finish those. Mom's I can't do anymore with as I am out of that thread, but that is OK. I have also started the first 'basic' motif from Wally Sosa's Tat-Along project, I just need to figure out now what I am going to do for the next round (if I can LOL).

Well I also got two of my baby blankets finished yesterday. I haven't taken pics yet, but will post as soon as I get that done.

Been kind of rainy (sprinkles/light rain) yesterday and today. Pretty chilly too. One can sure tell Fall is in the air. On one hand I am for the first time in my life actually ready for winter, but then on the other hand, I'm not as we still have some stuff we have to get ready (firewood, garden, etc).

My Doilies and Weekend

Well I FINALLY got photos of the doilies I made. Had a pretty busy and WONDERFUL weekend. Our grand daughter was here, we celebrated her FIRST birthday even though it really isn't until about the middle of this week. Our oldest son and his wife were here (Aunt Jen and Uncle Dan LOL). The house is really really quiet now that our oldest and his wife went back home to Washington and our grandbaby went back home to her mom and dad (locally).

WoW, I can't BELIEVE how FAST time has flown by!!!

I've gotten about 9 doilies crocheted, and almost 1 doily tatted (my first tatted doily, WOO HOO!!). I also started a motif using a simple flower pattern from Susan H. I kind of messed up on it, but after having to go back uhmmm (let's just say a few times) and having to 'frog' it,,, (King Tut quilting thread), I'm not going to bother with correcting it. Besides it is what is left over from my thread exchange, so I don't have enough to make too many corrections as it is. LOL I am sure my mom will understand anyway, since it is more or less a sample to show her what I have been learning this summer.

Anyway, I hope to get some ready to post by the end of the week, or possibly the first of next week, as my oldest and his wife is coming to visit this weekend. I am soo excited!!!!!

I have taken a break for just a bit from tatting. LOL actually as I was unpacking some boxes of books and organizing them,,, I found the boxes that had the craft books, so of course I had to cruise them. Upon doing so, I found some real treasures. I found some really crochet patterns AND tatting!!!! Well I swore I would NEVER again crochet doilies (actually never did, just did a small round tablecloth). Well since I am now HOOKED on tatting,,,these dainty works of art are just soo pretty (maybe it is just something to do with age heh heh heh).
So next thing I know I am crocheting some doilies. So far I have completed 2 and in about an hour or so will have my third one finish. Along with a nice pretty blister on the side of my thumb.

25 Motif Challenge- Motif 4

Motif # 4

Here is my newest motif. I was not only trying out learning how to add beads to my tatting, but I was again trying a new brand of thread. Today's thread was sent to me by Patti D. from WA. It is Majestic size 80 (from Handy Hands). The beads used were some Czech seed beads I had from about 10 years ago when I made a lot of beaded earrings. This pattern I found on the web from a store Tatting & Design, pattern by Lyn Morton (Thank you Lyn as well as Patti).

Please all comments are welcome what you think as well as any suggestions and tips.

Motif #1

This is my very first motif I have ever done. I did it using DMC Cebelia size 30, color # 603 "pretty pink". I got this pattern from a Workbasket Dec-1989 issue.

Motif #2
This Clover Leaf Heart-ModernPriscilla 1917- motif is done using DMC Cebelia a red and light blue size 10. I got the pattern from Handy Hands JanDec 2007 catalog.

Motif #3

This motif is done from a thread exchange I recently participated in. This thread is King Tut quilting thread color # 916 'mummy's dearest' provided to me by Carolyn K. (Thank you Carolyn, LOVE IT!) The pattern is from Georgia Seitz Round Robin For Beginners (Thank you as well Georgia!)

First of all I would like to introduce myself. I am Connie from North Idaho. I really love photography, camping, fishing, gardening, crafts and studying my Scriptures, especially out in nature. I just really mostly enjoy all of Heavenly Father's creations all around us.

I am starting this blog mostly for my crafting. I just recently started learning how to tat. LOL I have an aunt that tried to teach me about 23 years ago. So now I jokingly tell people it only took me 23 years to learn how. I sure wish I had tried a little harder back then. Hopefully you will get to see me grow in my experience and I will probably also try to add in more of what I do, if this works out. This is also my first attempt at creating a blog, so please bear with me.

Please feel free to leave me comments and tips, and PLEASE no foul or nasty words. If you don't like anything you see, just leave it be. Constructive criticism is welcome, that is how we all learn, I for one am always trying to learn.

3. I am happily married for coming up 26 years (Feb) to the same wonderful guy, been blessed with 3 handsome sons and 1 beautiful daughter. Along with 3 wonderful daughter-in-laws and a beautiful grand daughter.

4. I've never seen the ocean, or the eastern half of the United States.

5. I love to mix flavors in cakes, milk shakes, etc.6. I'm more afraid of spiders than I am of snakes. Snakes don't really bother me at all. Ticks are actually my worse fear, next to the dark LOL.

7. I would rather listen to music than watch TV, but do love old westerns and classics as long as they aren't scary or gory shows.
